1967 Triple Black Brass Hat factory Air with 400 hp • Stock 221Z
Owner Statement:
I first purchased this car on September 19th, 2002 but the story of this car goes way back to the middle 1980's when Clay Viebrock of Kansas City, Missouri owned it.

Clay purchased this car some time prior to April 16th, 1980 but titled it on the before mentioned date.

Clay was a Corvette lover first and the owner of a Corvette parts and body shop secondly.

I met Clay in the mid 1980's as I traveled to the Kansas City area at least once a year and our paths crossed often.

Clay would always tell me he was thinking about selling his 1967 Black 400 hp air Corvette and that was the hook that took me to his shop a dozen times but it just never happened.

Clay would always have second thoughts as this car was truly his baby.

Fast forward to May of 2000 when I was visiting Kansas City. I called Clay and he said he was ready to sell and to just stop by his shop which I did... same result occurred as Clay got cold feet so I told him that I am not interested in his car anymore and I am done talking about it.

September 11th, 2001 (9/11) took its toll on many businesses in the months following and Clay's business was not spared either as he called me in April 2002 and said he was ready to sell and he wanted me to be the new owner but I was not interested anymore and I told Clay that.

Months went by and Clay called again and said he would sweeten the deal if I would buy his 1967 Corvette by selling me some very rare Halibrand wheels. I said okay and purchased his Corvette on September 19th, 2002.

Shortly thereafter, my friend Clay Viebrock passed. Our friendship was because of Corvettes and this 1967 in particular that he had owned, loved, and enjoyed for 22 years.

I first sold this 1967 on October 16th, 2002 to a client in Clute, Texas and he hired the Naber Brothers from Houston to perform their magic and restore it back to better than new and he subsequently received a NCRS Top Flight and a Bloomington Gold certification.

I then repurchased the car in June 2008 and personally took it to Chicago and received a Gold Spinner award and the coveted Triple Crown.

I know the "real" legitimate cars with legitimate paperwork and body tags. This car is the "real deal". It is not cheap and it will never be cheap as it is one of only two true "real deal" Black/Black 400 hp 4 speed factory air convertibles known to exist,
